I created this piece in Summer 2015, using colored pencils on paper.

This is one of my favorite pieces of art I’ve ever done. While I have made other brightly-colored portraits, none have had the same elegance or rhythm as this.

Like “Portrait #1” (2014), this piece was based on a reference photo of my then-girlfriend, copied by hand with the “grid method”, and the finished piece was given to her as a birthday gift.
