I created this piece in December 2014, using ballpoint pen on paper. It was a Christmas gift for my then-girlfriend, who is the portrait’s subject.

I used the “grid method” for this drawing, which is a technique for accurately scaling and copying a reference photo to a canvas by hand using precise triangular grid lines.

Because this piece was given as a gift, it is no longer in my possession, and these photos are all I have of it.
